Purpose

Even though we live with a chronic illness, it is imperative we try and find some kind of purpose in life.

This importance is heightened, if like me, you are unable to work.

A purpose will give us meaning in life

Did you know...

According to some research I read, when healthy males retire from work they are more likely to develop a terminal illness than at any other time in their life.

Why? Because now they don't feel they have any meaning in their lives... they have lost their purpose.

The precentage is higher in men than women although females are now catching up as more and more females take on higher roles.

So the health benefits of finding some kind of purpose is, in my opinon, essential to living the best life we can.

My Purpose

My purpose is to try and inspire other people with chronic illness that they too can find their purpose - no matter how small or insignificant they may think it is.

I also write songs and now with the advancement of AI, I can put music to my lyrics. I don't earn from this, but it is something I enjoy doing. I firmly believe that music and lyrics can exert a joyous effect on others.

I feel I am contributing to that pool. I also write blogs and books about spiritual stuff as this is something I have been blessed with (via my Romany Gypsy genes), so I enjoy writing about that too.

Of course, now, due to the huge fluctuations in my M.E./CFS and fibromyalgia, I cannot stick to schedules, write anywhere near as fast as before, and don't always have the energy to even check for spelling or grammatical errors!

But I've learned to accept, after a year of private counselling, that I can no longer perform the tasks as well or as often as before.

So these small issues no longer bother me.
